Makeup Wars- Favorite Spring Trend

The Spring trend I have been going nuts for is THE GRASS NAIL! It adds different colors and textures to any mani (it also gives off a nice fresh scent)!  The grass nail is wearable with anything since it will most likely match with the outdoor surrounding in Spring. This nail look might be harder for people in colder areas. I am currently in NY for work and I had a hard time finding some REAL grass. I heard that the fake Easter grass can be a substitute if you absolutely can not find real grass. When I recreated this look, I added a small leaf to hide the bottom of the grass blades.

1-Find a couple of grass blades and a leaf (if you want).

2- Paint your nails with a bright color.

3- Put a clear top coat on.

4- When the clear coat is still wet, carefully rearrange your grass blades to your liking.

5- Add a little more clear coat to the area you want the leaf. I put it near the bottom to cover the raw ends of the grass.

6- You can either trim the grass blades to match your nail length or just leave it for more “springy and natural” look.

7- Enjoy the Spring spirit on your nails!

Also, don’t forget to switch the grass blades out a couple of times everyday. They tend to get brown and gross after a couple of hours. I would suggest bringing a bottle of clear polish with you in your purse so you can just reapply every couple of hours when you are out. ENJOY!

I just saw this on one the big polish sites! You nail people are nuts! Although I’m not gonna lie. I kinda love it!

I love that you used real grass for this look. It keeps the trend from being too over the top

This is an incredible look and I love the fact that you used a renewable resource to create it! The look really makes a statement and my dog loves to chomp on my grass manicure when his tummy is upset. I really feel like I’m “helping” him even more now!

I love the green of fresh grass. I wonder if I trimmed it to nail length and used my gel polish top coat if I could seal it in and it would stay green for a full two weeks?

You need to wear this on Earth Day. You will be the talk of the town. What a great idea.

So fresh and spring-like! Alas, like spring and cherry blossoms, it’s also fleeting and thus high-maintenance. I like my nails like my lawns…astroturf, baby!

Wow. This is a really interesting nail look. It’s hard to pull off with two kids, but I think it’s fun for a night out. At least it’ll be a good conversation starter.

I like this way more than Zoya’s grass nails. It seems a bit more, uh I don’t know…natural!
