I got mircoblading done in Tampa at Flirt Wax Bar!!! I have been waiting months to post this review! I wanted to show an actual before and after picture of my lovely brows with my brows completely healed! At the bottom of my post I put together my snaps I did while I was getting it done.
I found Flirt Wax Bar through instagram. I knew I wanted to get microblading done but I just didn’t know where. I looked through the hashtags related to tampa and microblading (#microbladetampa, #microbladingtampa, #tampamicroblading, #tampamicroblade). I then looked at all the eyebrows I liked and they all happened to be Flirt Wax Bar. DONE! I highly recommend finding a place to get your eye brows done that has TONS of pictures online.

Raya is the owner (she is also a ninja waxer) and Michelle is the main mircoblader at Flirt Wax Bar and she is amazing! She is actually an artist who loves to draw faces so she is not new to drawing eyebrows, which is something I loved hearing!! She also let me take pictures and snaps and you can see them all at the bottom of the post!
Let me start by saying that I have VERY oily skin. Microblading is best for people with dry skin however, I wanted to give it a try anyways. Disclaimer, if you do have oily skin this procedure could not work and the pigment may just disappear. I opted to try it anyways!
Now I’m going to walk you through my procedure!
These are my brows before. Sparse and just crazy. Everyday I HAVE to do my brows because if I don’t it looks like I have none from far away. I hate doing my brows because I am really bad at it! I have also heard from other people who do brows for a living don’t like doing Asian brows because they are super hard, I AGREE! I finally decided to get mircoblading done to save me some time in the morning and to ALWAYS have perfect brows without doing anything.
When I got into Michelle’s microblading room she explained to what she was going to do. First she was going to draw on my face the brow shape I wanted. You tell her what you want and she will draw it on your face until you are happy. Remember, she is an artist that draws faces all the time so she has a good idea of what shape will look good on you already. I told her to draw whatever she thought would look good on me. She nailed it on the first draft!
The microblading process is done with Michelle using a tool with multiple fine pin looking things on it.
She uses it to draw the stokes with ink on it and then puts more ink on top of the stokes. She does two passes like this on each eye. For the first pass I opted not to use the numbing agent. Michelle suggested I didn’t use the numbing agent for the first pass because of my oily skin. The pain level is probably less painful then getting a tattoo but more painful then a shot. I’m not gong to lie, tears were starting to form in my eyes by the time she was done with one eye. Not bad though. For the second pass she used the numbing agent and all I could really feel was the pressure of the strokes.
RIGHT AFTER MICROBLADING
I LOVED my brows!! They looked so define and dark and so pretty! Michelle put a liquid band aid type thing on my brows and sent me home with some ointment, cotton rounds, and q tips. After 24 hours I wiped the liquid band aid thing off with a cotton round with distilled water and applied the Vaseline type ointment on top of my brows. You can’t get your brows wet for a week as they are healing. It was kind of pain because I wear a full face of makeup everyday and it took so long to wash my fave every night.
3 WEEKS, RIGHT BEFORE TOUCH UP (included in price)
One of the risks of getting microblading done with oily skin is that it could completely disappear because the oils may push out all the pigment. LUCKILY only some of mine faded! My stokes also softened up more than the original stroke. If you compare my brows here and my original photo, you can see there is still a difference and I have brows! A touch up comes with the original price and is recommended since most people’s brows will fade a little on the first procedure.
COMPLETELY HEALED AND DONE
YAY! My brows are done and should last a year!! I LOVE LOVE how they turned out even with my oily skin! This picture was taken right after I woke up this morning. My brows are untamed, unplucked, and I didn’t do anything with them yet! You can visit my IG page (@geniabeme) where you can see how they look with a full face of makeup on. I love how I don’t need any brow product at all anymore! I will just put on my foundation, get a wet q tip and go over my brows to take any foundation or powder residue and that is all I do!
My snaps during my procedure!
Microblading runs around $500 (different places have different prices) and lasts for a year. If you are in the Tampa, FL area, I highly recommend checking out Flirt Wax Bar in South Tampa! Do you think you will be getting this?!
